You should probably not change passwords.  It defeats the purpose if there is an easy way to get around them

Thanks for your reply

The problem is I can not remember what I orginally set the pass word.  I want to do things that require me to use the password by I do not remember what it was orginally.

https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-30442/diff?secondVersionNumber=3

That page suggests reaching out to NI to get help creating a recovery disk to reset the password.  I'd hope they'd push you to keep trying to remember your password.  The entire point of adding a password is so that people cannot easily change things.  If you could easily hit reset, that defeats the value of having a password.  You'll need to either call NI to ask for help or remember the password.  Either way, you probably shouldn't be using passwords if you can't remember them.  That also defeats the value in having a password.
