My MyDAQ is inaccurate

The connection between the actual pins on the myDAQ and the long black screw connector that attaches to it is horrible. It is giving me inacurate results and variable voltages.

When I measure the +15V to AGND sometimes I get ~15 and most of the time I get 0.0V or something in between. It is highly untrustworthy. Is this a problem with NI?

Hi George,

Are you able to read the correct voltage if you are measuring a known voltage source, such as a battery?

If your myDAQ is not functioning properly and you would like for NI to service the device, please contact National Instruments at (800) 433-3488 and ask for the RMA department.

Hello George,

I'm guessing you are using the DMM to probe the 15 V terminals at the screw heads of the connector. The 20-pin screw terminal plug is designed for clamping down on wires, electrically connecting them to the myDAQ pins. If the screws aren't tightened, they aren't making reliable contact. If you want to probe the screw heads, make sure they are tightened down first.

I hope this helps,
