How to use myRIO webservices with an EDGE modem ?

Hi,

I'm actually making a M2M system with myRIO.

I have an edge modem,  which communicates with myRIO by UART.

And I have a public IP.

Is it possible to use webservices of myRIO with the modem ?

Sorry but I am completly lost with UART, VISA VI etc...

Best regards

Hey enzol,

LabVIEW Web Services only work through a valid network adapter (such as WIFI on myRIO) so you won't be able to use LabVIEW Web Services with a UART EDGE modem.

Let us know if you have any more questions about this.

Thanks!

Thank you for your answer.

Is-it possible to install the modem with its drivers on the Linux RT and use it like a valid network adapter ?

Thanks

Hey enzol,

I assume this question is covered by your other thread here.

Depending on the hardware,  kernel modules and software required it may be easy to get the modem recognized as a network adapter by the OS, or very difficult (my guess is fairly difficult for this one).  If you're a Linux guru you can probably get it working.  If you have Linux quesitons you're best resource is the  NI Linux Real-Time community.

Good luck, and let us know if you get it working.
