ELVIS 14.0: Disable / Uninstall Web Services

It seems like my NI Elvis 14.0 installation also installed NI Web Services, which is taking up port 8080 on my computer (which is a very commonly used port for web development...). Seeing as I am using Elvis purely for interfacing with my myDAQ, I doubt I'll ever use the web services. Any way to uninstall/disable them? I saw a few help articles about disabling using the manager at localhost:3580, but for some reason I always get redirected to localhost:3582 which gives me a "404 - Not Found" error (which means that Web Services is also taking up ports 3580 and 3582...scary!). Any tips?

Hi woojoo666,

It looks like someone else on the forums has encountered a similar problem and found a solution to it.

Hope this helps!

Hi Trent,

When I tried to connect to port 3582 I get a 404 error:

However, clearly NI Web Services is using that port:

Am I forgetting to do something, like start up the web services or disable a firewall?

Hi woojoo666,

You can also try getting to the Web Server Configuration page by opening LabVIEW and navigating to:

Tools » Options » Web Server » Configure Web Application Server

Do you still get the 404 error when accessing it this way?

The weird thing is I never installed labview. I installed ELVIS 14.0 purely so I could use the myDAQ, so I don't know where I got this extra functionality that seems to be part of LabView and not ELVIS.
