ar drone ball tracking

Hi everyone,

I am working on ar drone ball tracking and following project and i am kind of stuck. Locating the ball was kind of easy however making it to follow the ball is difficult. I am getting the x and y coordinate of the ball from ar drone's front camera and the radius of the ball. So x and y would acts to control the roll and altitude or yaw and altitude and the radius will control the pitch. I have used the pid controller for this but the drone is very unstable. I have also tried putting the hover function if the drone is within certain range of the x y and radius values but still not optimal. Can anyone help me with this control/following part or share their vi if you have worked on it.
