Just stumbled across THIS about texan german speakers on the BBC website and found it interesting.

Didn't know there was stuff like this in Texas. I know Ben and Altenbach have some german connections (I've probably left some out - sorry)...

iPhone...ugh i lost it.

One month after getting the iPhone 5 as my upgrade I was due for, I accidentally left it in a cab last night. While tracking the gps from iCloud and calling it, someone turned it off. Fabulous. Glad to know that's what this worlds coming to. Drives me nuts. All some person had to do was answer the phone and I would have come and gotten it. Of course, I'm partially to blame here, but the selfishness of some person out there is really what drives me crazy.

I'm sure my provider is ecstatic though; now I have to buy a new phone and this one they don't have to subsidize. Anyone else lost something that's driven them crazy?!

Yellow Block representing the Member status

Strange phenomenon I just noticed, the highlighted yellow block representing that "I am a member Status" just got shifted from the right block to the left block for no apparent reason!

On a related note, how does the yellow blocks work anyway?

Unexpected yet delightful little glyph

Working in the LabVIEW Project tree today I suddenly saw that one of my virtual folders had an icon a little different from the rest....

After a little investigation I've learned that a Virtual Folder with the string "message" at the beginning causes a delightful little envelope glyph to appear over the drab grey folder icon.

I can't find any documentation to explain this, and I can't see a reason for any of my installed toolkits to do this, so I was wondering:

What other automatic glyphs might be overlaid for virtual folder names with particular content?

I recently found this video, which describes the work Bert Sutherland taken as part of is PhD on graphical programming.

It's really fascinating to see the source of many of the conventions we now use in LabVIEW; what do you guys think?

The misspellings of LabVIEW

The misspellings of the word LabVIEW always drives me nuts; pet peeve of mine. But, I was getting ready to post on the LabVIEW jobs board for an available subcontractor position and realized how many people, both prospective employees and employers on the prowl, are spelling LabVIEW wrong in job postings/resumes etc! For some reason, it drove me crazy enough to come here and rant. This is all I have to say...just curious if it gets under the skin of anyone else?
