Image Display got rotten (really: the Indicator, not the Image!)

I'd like to hear comments on the following VI, containing just a single Image Display Indicator, which, for some reason got corrupted during porting across LV versions and resizing. By divide and conquer I found that it was the origin of pretty odd problems that I was observing in a complex VI: absence of front panel updates, pull down menues not displayed, actions needing a double press of buttons, and so on.

The VI is saved from LV2012 windows, also attached as saved for 8.5. Just opening it, on 2 installation of Labview, I turn labview into something responding oddily. (try to pull down a menu, e.g.). Linux LV seems not to suffer from it, maybe because it places a nonfunctional FP placeholder for this control, without trying to cope with its nonfunctionality.

The question is perhaps, why LV doesn't detect the problem and behaves so weirdly with it -- bug?

Hello,

I am working on the application that inspect our joysticks. This joystick has LEDs on it, and it need an VI to turn on/off each LED at the time; I have a camera and VBAI to run inspection each of my LED.

The VI is quite complicated, but it ran successful themselves by LABVIEW. However, when I integrate the VI to VBAI, there is a weird error pop up, and I have no clue why it happens.

GigE Vision All-In packet

Hello,

I am searching for a solution for a simple problem. I designed linescan camera, GVCP works, camera streams UDP packets on request from NI Max, but these packets are not recognized as data and Timeout Error 0xBFF6901B comes. Attached I send my All-In UDP packet. The same happens on my laptop and NI Industrial Controller with Intel network interface. Firewall is always off. On which parameters NI Max decides, that current packet is data packet? UDP Port?

I set the value to 1 in my camera's XML file and my camera should support All-In transfers. Should I have set it elsewhere too?

What else should I check?

I've got a Point Grey Chameleon CMLN-13S2M USB 2.0 camera and it is not showing up in NI-MAX.

I'm well aware of the Directshow registration problems with the PGR cameras, and as far as I can tell the camera is properly registered. It shows up with no problems in AMCAP, a simple Directshow viewer, and also in Skype.

I just uninstalled the PGR drivers and spent a while going through the registry to delete all references I could to Point Grey and PGR. I then reinstalled the 32 bit version of the latest drivers, v2.5 beta 2. I also upgraded the camera firmware to the latest.

I'm running

Labview 2012 SP1 f2, 12.0.1

Vision development module 12.1.0

NI-IMAQdx 4.1.0

I have been trying to get a Basler camera working with Labview and MAX again. I say again, because it use to work. Not quite sure what happen other than upgraded to 2012 SP1 and the new Basler driver 3.2. I went thru and followed Basler's instruction for driver install and network card settings. Please check out the screenshot. The weird thing for me is that it will have a steady image for three or four seconds, and then it starts losing packts and never recovers. Why would it be able to keep up for a few seconds and then the problem? I would assume if the setup wasn't right, it would never have a full image. When I had this issue before, I was able to mess with the timing of the resend messages, and it solved the issue when running Labview 2011; but that doesn't seem to work now.

The screenshot is from MAX, but it acts the same in my Labview app. When I run the Basler pylon viewer, it doesn't drop have any issues. Any ideas? Thanks.

determine object pose

Dear programmers,

I have been dealing with the issue of determining the pose of an object following the: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/372916M-01/nivisionconcepts/spatial_calibration_indepth/

I have calibrated my system and tried to determine the Rotational matrix and Translation vector following the documentation (please see the attachments below saved for LV2011).

I have also calibrated my system with Matlab calibration toolbox and the focal distances and optical centers are basically the same. But the calculated Rotational matrix and Translation vector are correct in Matlab, but incorrect in Labview.

Could someone with more experiences pleas helpe me to understand what am I doing wrong?

Best regards,

How to match a pattern of a different scale

(Using LabView 2010)

I'm trying to match a pattern that is a different size in the two images and could use some advice.

The pallette I'm looking on is Vision and Motion -> Machine Vision -> Searching and Matching

It would seem (please correct me if I'm wrong) that the 'IMAQ Match pattern.vi' is unable to use scaling to match the template image to another image where the pattern is a different size, since it lacks the options.

I *think* it is possible with 'IMAQ match geometric pattern.vi', but after playing around with the example vi provided I simply can't get it to recognise the pattern if I change the size of either the template image or target image.

Can anyone who has got this to work for them tell me how they set it up?

Thanks

Hi, Can any one tell like, which camera will be useful for me, please find the requirement below,

Hole diameter measurement, Size 160 * 160 mm

Thickness 5mm,

The composite plate has more than 6 holes spreaded over it and we need to measure the hole daimeter. we are looking at 50 Micron accuracy..

Anybody can explain what the settings "Kernel Size" and "Projection Width" means?

Why does it matter? What are the recommended values?
