6501 default initialization

My 6501 initializes to all lines high when I power up the computer, is there a way to set the default states.  I know that I can do it when Labview runs but the problem is between power up and running labview.

Hi Bob,

Unfortunately, that board does not support programmable power-on states between your computer's startup and NI software execution.

There are two possible solutions that I see for this problem.

  1. Use external circuitry, such as an inverter, to drive the lines low on startup.  From here, you would just have to reverse the logic for your outputs
  2. Use a different data acquisition device.  National Instruments does offer numerous boards that have programmable power-on states.  These are listed in the following Knowledge Base article

How Do I Set Programmable Power Up States and What Boards Support Them?

I hope this helps!

Hi Ed

Bummer

The same conclusion I had come to but there was a slim chance.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
