Asyc Reset mode for Pulnix 6710 with PCI-1422

How do I access the asynchronous reset mode of Pulnix TM-6710 Camera using PCI 1422. Selecting the Async mode and fast reset in MAX, ALWAYS times out the HL triggered snap example vi.(this example also times out 5%of the time in manual shutter mode as well) I am supplying the Pulnix spec'd negative TTL pulse to pin 6 of the 12 pin connector on the camera, and have investigated various offset times with respect to the trigger pulse supplied to the 1422. I am running IMAQ 2.5.2 and LabVIEW 6.1 under windows 2000.

According to the support file (Pulnix TM-6710 Support File.txt), the serial communication requires special consideration (since it is not bundled in the standard Pulnix cable).
