Return Status BFFF003E with visa serial write

Visa says connection ok but gives a return status of BFFF003E and will not return OK after AT command

Do you have handshake enabled or is the serial connection sending CTS?

I got this error with a USB serial port. I solved this using the buffer function for this serial connection.
