the gpibtsw utility continues to complain and ask to reinstall

I am attempting to install the GPIB and VISA libraries on Linux.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS release 3 (Taroon Update 6)
Linux marlin.stratalight.com 2.4.21-37.ELsmp #1 SMP Wed Sep 7 13:28:55 EDT 2005 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

When I run the gpibtsw tool, it complains the software is not installed, that I should reboot, and re-install. I have done this several times already and I think I'm stuck in an infinite loop. 😉

Any suggestions? I simply following the INSTALL script, and everything seemed to go fine.
