Use NI 9237 with 5 VDC output signal transducer

Dear Fellows,

Please tell me how to use NI 9237 with torque transducer, which has 12-24 VDC excitation and +/-5 VDC output signal. Is it OK to use external 15 VDC regulated power supply for excitation of transducer? Since NI 9237 can accept up to +/-25 mV/V signal, what instrumentation I can use to can lower transducer output signal to make it work with NI 9237?

Thanks in advance.

The NI 9237 accepts an external excitation up to 10 V.

From this specification alone, I would not recommend using this particular sensor for your application with the NI 9237. I suggest using a sensor that has a lower excitation voltage requirement.

Thank you, Nathan.

I'll try to use NI 9239 with this transducer.

Since transducer is bi-directional, can NI 9239 accept +/- 5 VDC signal?

Yes! The NI 9239 can accept up to a +- 10 V signal. If you use +-5 V signal then you'll only be using half of the range/resolution available, but it will work.
