myRIO: programming FPGA (VHDL)

I'm currently studying Systems Engineering and I need some help concerning myRIO: I have to find out if the myRIO-FPGA is programmable (VHDL, no LabView!) AND how or why not.

My question: is this achievable without LabView? How complicated is this?

Hi newbie_fh,

There are two ways to use VHDL in LabVIEW, Clip and IP Integration Node. For both you need at the end LabVIEW. With the Clip and IP Integration Node you can integrate VHDL code in LabVIEW. You can find an example for both in the LabVIEW Example Finder. The keyword is VHDL. You get also these examples if you browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2015\examples\CompactRIO\FPGA Fundamentals\Integrating 3rd Party IP.

Regards,

Wolfgang
